Hi I am trying to remove the crank bolts off this old Motobecane road bike, since the bottom bracket is loose. Can any tell me what kind of tool do I need to remove this type of bolt?:innocent:
Thanks!

You need a crank puller.

1) Remove dust cap
2) Thread the puller all the way into the dust cap threads on the crank arm.
3) Rotate the handle part of the tool and your crank is removed.
If you dont thread the tool all the way into the dust threads, these will strip when you rotate the tool handle. Dont forget to retrackt the pusher part of the tool before you thread it into the threads.

You'll just need a big flat screwdriver to remove the dust cap. Probably a 14mm socket to remove the crankbolt hiding underneath. But then you'll need a bike-specialized tool, a crank puller, to remove the crank. The bottom bracket has its own set of tools you'll need.
edit: slag is quicker on the draw :)

Yes, but you remembered to mention the bolt that must be removed if there's any chance of removing that crank, so you win.
