was just cruising along, minding my own business ... when suddenly i got yanked off my bike by the neck ...

apparently a tree had a grudge against me ... but we got it settled .. and i went on my way...

if that had been a car i would have been in trouble ... lol

basically i bobbed when i should have weaved ... and a branch nailed me ... yanked the helmet back and left me dangling by the chin strap while still on my bike, nothing like going from 10mph to 0 in a second ... strap didn't break tho so i had to get my balance and figure out what the hell was going on, then got the strap undone.

Trees have a way of doing that from time to time. Back in college I was on an epic ride with two of my best friends when a tree attacked one of them. We were flying down a hill and I was bringing up the rear when we swung around a corner, dipped down into a dry creek crossing, and under some overhanging branches. Mark who was in the lead nimbly ducked under, while Dave who is 6'2" or so tried to duck but managed to jam the top of his head right into the limb. Funniest thing I ever saw once I found out only his pride was hurt.

Watch out for those jumping trees especially.

yeah after i was out of it and turned around and saw what happened i started laughing ... then i checked for blood and only found sweat ...

this would be the second time something like this has happened to me on this part of a trail .. last time i nailed a low hanging limb because i didn't duck to hard but it didn't go in the helm .. just knocked me off the bike and i saw stars for a bit.

Watch out for those jumping trees especially.

i really hate the ones that raise their roots up just in time to trip me up while i am going between them, then they disappear back in the ground as soon as i look to see what it was.
