Folding Bikes - What Do People Think about Citizen Folding Bikes?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been reading a lot of threads on this forum and have learned a lot about Dahon and Downtube bikes. However, I have seen almost nothing on Citizen folding bikes. I had pretty much made up my mind to purchase a Citizen Miami because (a) it's cheap; (b) it's a known brand; (c) I only need a bike for short commutes (less than five miles) and errands; and (d) I want a new (i.e., not used) bike. But after reading some of the posts on this site, I'm worried that Citizen bikes might be badly-made and/or will fall apart on me. Any opinions, advice, suggestions, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For as cheap as they are, they are grossly overpriced. They weigh a lot more than what they claim.

For less money, you could get a used Downtube.

For slightly more money, you could get a new Downtube.

Downtubes are great values.

+1 OK bike but heavy for what it is. Downtubes far better.

I never think about Citizen bikes. Except now.

+1 Down tube. Is Citizen a bicycle brand? I thought they made watches.

it's cheap- I regularly buy cheap bikes and have had to replace stuff like wheels and drive train on them.
