Road Cycling - Oh nothing like a New Bike (Cannondale R3000)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
It's been over a year since I hoped back on my road bike lost 40 lbs and have put myself in the position to race again. I've renewed my USCF license after 5 years and joined a local club. I feel great and cannot wait for the racing season to begin. So I told myself if I stuck with it and still loved it I would treat myself to a new racer. The 10 yr + Paramount will still be ridden, but not raced. Saturday my new machine was built and is ready for some warm weather.
Took a few tries to get the picture to look right and fit on the page.

SWEEET.... but it would be nice if you could make the pic smaller while upping the resolution.... it looks extremely grainy!

whoa... it looks better all of the sudden... did you just do something?
And maybe when you learn to ride you'll flip that stem over the way it belongs.
They set it up to my measurements from my fitting. I'm not sure if I'm gonna leave it like that. Feels a little weird. We'll see how the break in goes. They will change the seat, bars, stem if I want. They are cool about changing things so it is comfortable.
And maybe when you learn to ride you'll flip that stem over the way it belongs.
And maybe when you grow a sack, you'll be less of an a-hole.
There is nothing wrong with his setup. In fact the Ritchey stem is labeled both ways for flipping the stem.
Like he said, he can change it if he wants. Looks great to me.

Agreed.. you probably didn't mean anything by it but these forums are for recreational and racers... if the persons comfortable, and goes out on their bike.. who cares.
I am actually stretched out just as much on this one as my old racer. When I am in the drops my back is flat and I am tucked in like everyone else when they are racing. The bars will need to be turned down a little more, but otherwise it matches up with the standard measurements you find on wrenchscience, performance, etc. In the end it is all about what position you are comfortable in. If this one is more comfortable and aerodynamic and I feel better for the final sprint or climb who really cares what it looks like if I win. It takes some time when you get a new bike to get it exactly how you like it. Oh and it doesn't hurt to try new positions considering it's only February. :p

Heh, your story parallels mine. 10 yrs since I was last licensed, 50 lbs dropped. I'm paying my club dues tomorrow and will probably replace the 12 year old Specialized Epic with either a new frame or a complete bike depending on the budget.
Good luck, have fun. :)
F1_Fan It's nice to know that I am not alone.

Agree totally on fit...it's what allows you to best push the pedals, not what looks most like your favorite pro. Considering the winter you're having in Buffalo, you'll have plenty of time to play with the stem and spacers before spring anyway!

Sweet lookin ride. I really love those mavics!
Wish I was in some warmer weather like you two. AL and FL would be much better then Buffalo this time of year.
