Road Cycling - Looking for old Post

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am looking for an old post that makes me laugh, I havent seen it in sometime, maybe one of you guys will see it and let me know where it is or bring it back to the top. I think its subject was: What is this??
It was a picture of a chain hanger. It had several replies and they were so comical, I love reading that post so please if any one sees it let me know...
Thanks :D

LOL, I know I am not the ONLY one in here with a sence of Humor, because some of those replies were plain hilarious..
There was nothing wrong with the question at all, Its just some of the replies you could tell who is a wise guy in these forums :D
To answer your question: No not all bike have them.. Two of my Bianchis do have them and two of my other Bianchis dont have them. They are not a bad thing at all, in fact they help keep the chain out of your way while working on the bike or when replacing the wheel...
The thing I love about the Post is the comments and replies, some were just too funny, for instance one reply said "get rid of it, it weighs too much" I dont recall the weight they put but it was so funny.

You guys have way to much time on your hands. I'm the originator of the post and all I needed was someone to tell what it was. I never looked at the post again after the first reply 7 minutes after I posted. Yes the bike is clean as the cassette and chain was newly installed and everything was cleaned. Usually when I replace parts I clean the whole bike plus I haven't ridden alot this winter.
I must confess you guys called me out on the Ultegra showing in the picture. So what, I'm proud of my bike. I'm still new to the sport and I built the bike up myself. I agree this post is funnier.

Dont get me wrong, I am not making fun of you in any way, we all have to learn things on our bikes and we should be very proud of them, no matter how nice or how old, they are special to us in certain ways. I just love the answers these guys gave you, I knew it would be hard to get a straight answer in here and tahst what makes it so entertaining, You are a great sport, dont feel bad at all

If he mounted one of those on the left seat stay, it would balance the air flow over the back of the bike. That would counterbalance the weight disadvantage... ;) :D

nice photoshop job zman92atl... :D :D
so, did you ever cut it off? ;)
Dag nabbit, thats what that lil suckers for. I scratched my head trying to figure it out while refurbing the Peugoet singlespeeder last month.
Got to the point that I'd crack open a cold one and sit on the 5 gallon pail, contemplating the mysterious origin and usage of "the stub". Even after a six pack, I still couldn't come up with a plausible explination.
Now I'll have to figure out another reason to drink.
PS: Can these be purchased as "add ons". Perhaps as carbon fiber?

I actually did that with MS-Paint. No I didn't cut it off since I decided to use it as a hanger for my Nitrous bottle. :D
