This really sucks:
http://www.krdo.com/global/story.asp?s=8802101
"Barbara Thomas is being charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of drugs, and driving with a restricted license."
Lots of pure HATE and crass responses to the article in the local paper. Level headed cyclist responses needed!
Two Bicyclists Killed - in the Gazette (http://www.gazette.com/articles/wednesday_39045___article.html/street_killed.html)
there is absolutely no point or value to getting down in the dirt and getting into it with the kind of people who hit and run nasty comments on online news stories.

Honestly, news sites should be about the news not these idiotic comments to drive up traffic.
They always seem to bring out the lowest common denominator. Now if the BBC would carry local news....
if theresa any good news in that story its this:
According to police, the deaths are the city's 13th and 14th traffic fatalities of the year, compared to 19 at the same time last year.

It really is quite sad. I've ridden past that same spot many times, probably will again tomorrow as I ride Gold Camp road. I honestly can't say I've ever faced any true hostility from motorists in the many years I've been riding, just the occasional teenager yelling or blowing the horn as he drives by. There are idiots everywhere whether in cars or on bicycles. Unfortunately the ones in cars can kill you through sheer negligence. I was hit once by a tow truck who turned right in front of me. He didn't even see me. I escaped with a crushed helmet, broken collarbone and bent up bike. Everyone keep your eyes open and be careful out there.

It's always scary riding where those accidents happen, it was sad when I read this story in the paper!
