Just went to donate blood yesterday and before you donate they take temp/bp/hr, and i was surprised to see that my ticker clocked in at 49bpm. Looks like laying off the caffeine and sodium and getting in a lot more exercise is a good thing for the heart.
Anyone else feeling good about cardio health and feel like bragging?

Recently had blood work done. The tech was impressed that my resting rate was 56. I feel pretty good about that.

geez, I got nothing to brag about. Standard 75 bpm, and 65 when I wake up.

Well - I just took it myself - 32 for 30 secs..so 64, but I am a good 50-60 pounds from my goal weight and have been working out steadily for about 4 months...so hopefully I will see y'all at 48 before you know it.

Feh, 72 after an afternoon of tech support blobbing-about. But I live on caffeine too. :P

Same here on the coffee and resting HR @ 60 now. Before I started cycling 9 months ago I was 80-90 @ rest.

48-62 range, depending on how much caffeine the day before.

My blood pressure is low enough (high 70s over 50ish) that the person taking it often thinks their sphygmomanometer is broken. My resting heart rate is nothing to get excited about, though at about 72ish.

79 here, but I am still a bit revved up from my ride today, and also just finished grilling dinner and such. Just got a chance to sit down and eat and everything now.

Usually in the 40's, I've seen it as low as 42.. The Metropolol does that for me..

Sure, and who cares how much weight you've lost, there's always Tom Stormcrowe who's lost more :)
But if you've worked hard on the bike to lose weight and get into a better overall condition, this is one of the things that drastically improves, and it's something to take pride in.
Last I checked, it was 42, but I do hit the gym 6 days a week, or when I'm not riding.

Mine averages between 59-68 bpm depending on how much caffeine and stress I’ve had. I have been told that’s not bad for someone nearly 100 pounds overweight and knocking on the door of 48 years old… I hope it’s a good thing anyway.:)
I used to work with a guy who looked perfectly fit, not more than 10 pounds overweight, in his twenties who’s resting heart rate was in the 120’s, he never paid any attention to it until he had to have minor surgery and his doctor just about had a cow over it… I wonder if he is still doing Ok…

Usually around 60, but it came in at 50 last week one evening while watching TV after climbing Lookout Mountain that morning.
Usually right around 42+/-.

Interesting comparisons. My resting heart rate is usually right around 72. This is the same as it was 7 months ago when I was 329 pounds. It is alos about the same as it was wehn it was skinny and in better shape in college. It just does not change much.

What a nice surprise - mine is at 60bpm, even after I've been driking coke to stay awake at work all night. Back in April it was in the high 70's.

Most folks don't know that trick, coke has two things you need to keep the afterburners going long, sugar and caffeine. The combination of a caffeine buzz and sugar high works wonders. Just need to make sure you don't drink too much, or you can end up :twitchy:
My resting heart rate is 3.......no, wait.....4bpm.
I'm clearly the 'fittest' so we can now lock down this thread.
