interesting -- they do look a little heavy, and i'd be a little bit concerned about the middle area being open to the elements (so that junk could get inside the bars).
found it posted in hkfixed blog.
apparently it is going for 40 bucks but tried googling up the email add and the only site i found was a flagged posting in sfcraiglist

those are neat, you could always put some plugs in the open ends to keep 'stuff' out
yeah i must admit..it looks kinda rad. thinking about it but without any credible site or reviews........

looking a second time, i think it'd be tricky to get a brake lever on there anywhere, but maybe that's the point.

with oury's you'd fit a break alright. they do look heavy though.. and for some reason i have trouble trusting welded together bars, not that they'd break.
Quill stem incompatible. :(
Otherwise... cool.
if you insist on running risers, these are perty dope!
What are these and where do you get them?

My name is Nate (from Long Beach) I have started a line of custom riser bars we are now ready to produce and we are ready to release LAFIXED.
This is a grassroots company as of right now. I would love nothing more than to say we got out start selling to riders on this forum plus our first sale will be directly donated to it.
As of now we are making 3 styled
2 inch rise
3 inch rise
3 inch rise with middle bar
We are about to get some powdercoated this week but as of right now we are spray bombing them in 5 colors
Flat Black
Gloss Black
Gloss Red
Metallic Blue
Gloss White
Below are some pics
3inch rise and 3 inch rise with bars

If you are interested we will be selling them for $40 plus shipping
Please email me at Nate@hyphybikes.com and specify which bars you would like and I will tell you where to send your MO.
On a side note there are frames and stems in the works. Support your local community.
straight off of lafixed, i think he's doing bullhorns too
Not good for me...I ride so fast that the openings will have a flute effect...maybe I should drill more openings in it and play Yankee Doodle Dandy when I ride : )
super ugly.
nice welds though. i'm sure you'll make profits.

no.
I really like them, nice bike too. Do you think these could handle the stress of BMX? If so, I know a few people that would love them.

fugly. Azonic and Answer make the sickest rizers.
i hope these become very popular, then maybe nitto's price will drop to $25. pair

Why not make them wider from the start and then let the users cut them down like everyone else that makes flat and riser bars does? Making them that narrow just means that only traffic bustin' fixed gear riders will want them.

+1. Let us brake-users decide the width.

Sweet as! Ugly bars with a low function standard to go with poorly functioning bike lights. Nice. They look great on that bicycle in the picture.
This is like a bad dream. The negative drop stem with deep drop handlebars has gone full circle. An adjustable rising stem with the 3" rise version of these bars would be perfect for any recumbent rider.
"Making them that narrow just means that only traffic bustin' fixed gear riders will want them." Umm, nobody that rides a good distance at any decent speed will want these. They'll be purchased by the "going out to the bar on a 1.2 mile ride with my Concept" riders.
If i wasnt so dead set against removable face plate stems I would be interested in these with the 2 inch rise, but a 1 or 1.5 inch rise would be better. They are very 1996 bmxish.

Looks like an ugly way to get your bars higher than the stem would allow. Why not raise the stem and get a nice flat bar?

What is the bar clamp size?
_hollister_
08-07-08, 03:52 PM
Cut the bottom flange at a 30deg angle to trim weight and look a little less... old school bmx.
What is the wall thickness? Go thin wall and heat treat them and you'd have buyers since you can advertise the weight without being embarrassed. Maybe go smaller OD on the down tubes and pierce the flatbar and clamp tube...
Maybe try a J type bar if you need funk.

Wow. I've been trying to be less of a hater lately, but come on. You can't taunt me like this. That's officially the ugliest bike I've ever seen, tarck or no.

I think you should advertise them installed upside down, and call them "downers"... A new craze, and you may get some drop bar riders to convert.

Is that a jingle they play for you during your American Apparel "shopping sprees"?

no no no, guys you've got it all wrong, those are upside down in your pictures, they're drops, not risers. . . .
hA! that'd be fun to ride actually . . . though i'm not sure you'd want to do it outside. better stick to the trainer with those ; )
besides, somebody would accuse you of being a "hipster" if you reversed them for practicality :P
