I have bikes that I place in my truck bed and I have a receiver hitch that is solely for the purpose of hooking up my Airstream Travel trailer.

Sorry, I don't have time to put this in line with the specific questions but hope it helps anyway.

Going on the gist of the survey, I'm guessing that you're trying to find out if there's a market for some cunning new bike rack. Seems to me that this market is pretty much tapped out with designs already on the market to suit everyone's needs. For the record, I've got one that I'm prefectly happy with, and am not inclined to get another, no matter how clever it is.

If you want to design a new product, then come up with a new product, preferably one that fulfills a necessary purpose. I for one could use a front fender that mounts to a Cannondale headshock fork. No-one makes one of them.

yeah... that's basically the gist of it. our assignment was designing a new reciever hitch/trailer hitch accessory. our group moved toward the bicycle rack end of things. maybe incorporating a rack that would be able to be marketed towards more than just bikers. like campers or adventurists as a whole. that's what the survey is for... to get an idea of what the consumer wants.

btw... HAIL PURDUE!
