I had a prolink saddle that lasted 6 months, the leather on the nose edge is worn through, sent it back to the supplier for a warranty claim but they said it was normal wear and tear.
How long does your saddle last? I have gone through 2 saddles in 2 years.

I somehow smashed the rails on my stock Specialized Hardrocks saddle, but other than that it looks new and I have yet to wear out a saddle.
I have a friend who is a bike cop and he seems to destroy saddles in 6 months or less.

My Brooks B-17 has lasted me 32 years so far and is still getting better, comfortwise...

I want to get a brooks. Maybe the girl will get me one for v-day. Anyway, I have been using a WTB speed V for 5 years now and almost no sign of wear. That is also 3 years as a courier.

I've had a B-17 for almost 30 years too on the old Raleigh, but it's been uncomfortable from day one. I remember using Neatsfoot oil a couple of times on it.....maybe didn't get the break-in ritual right. I've tightened the tension screw in front, but it still feels like a hammock with a hard edge at the back!
I have had about a dozen saddles over the last 18 years. I didn't replace the saddle because the saddle wore out but because my asse (with a silent e!) got wore out!!!!! Finally switched to a Brooks Swift TI and now I suspect I might wear out the saddle some day, but that will probably take 20 years or so.

I had a pro link, blow out, one of the soft elistomer pads that is between the saddle rail and saddle. This only took about 6 months. I went through 3 other saddles, not because I wore them out, but because they wore me out!
Now I have a "relationship" developing with a Team Pro. So far it's been love at first sit. The more I ride it, the better I like it. I can only hope this saddle last, cause I love it!

I had the same problem with the Pro=Link. That saddle was butt nirvana for me but was shot within 9 months. Now i switched back to my Specialized S Works saddle and am looking for a saddle with a flat top profile that isn't real wide. Any suggestions?

Ive never used it, but the fisik pave is pretty flat and narrow, it actually looks pretty similar to the body geometry saddle that I have right now.

I'll give another thumbs up for the Brooks Swift TI. I gave my SI Trans Am about 1,500 mi. to get comfortable with all kinds of position adjustments and it got tolerable at best. I've been on my new Swift only about 100 mi., the so-called painful period, and it's already more comfrtable than the SI and getting more so by the mile. Looking forward to many K's of miles on it!

Thanks for all the replies, I had the Prolink patched up by a cobbler. He wrapped a piece of leather around the nose. I will see how long this will last.

I want a Swift and they have a nice price, but they are all out of black. Does anyone have the maroon one? Any pictures of it on a bike?
