Pacific Northwest - Hot Days of August Wenatchee ?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Will be in Wenatchee next weekend and I may give this ride a shot instead of venturing out on an unplanned solo adventure. Anyone have any experiences with the ride, course or its overall topography as the site doesn't have to much information. Thx.

Yes, I think this would be a hot ride indeed. I would expect lots of open, exposed areas and some tough wind. Looks like some good sized rollers, but not on the order of several mountain passes. Overall, I would venture out on my own as opposed to riding this course.

My son and I rode from Crescent Bar to Wenatchee [and back] on our tandem and I have to admit it was a ride full of hills and the rudest people I have ever met. How would you explain to your 15 year old autistic son that a pick up truck full of 10 year olds yelling that we are gay and the parent driving was encouraging them all. The same truck pulled beside us earlier and was gunning the engine so the diesel exhaust smoke would blow on us. The same trunk had a bunch of kids giving us the bird as they passed us on our way back. The town just sucks and I just did my best to explain there are different people out there and they all appear to live in Wenatchee. Although there may be good people in that town the family in the grey Ford truck was not one of them.
Butcher,
Thanks for your input and thanks for sharing your experience. I myself will never understand the blatant ignorance of some. Looks like I am getting talked into participation and will be on the lookout for a Grey Ford truck. Looks like its going to be hot but we should be done by noon so may miss the worse of it.
There can be some really tough cross winds out past Rock Island dam so be careful.
