Utility Cycling - Need help re: Rohloff with Big Dummy

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Okay, so it looks like Rohloff #8027 is the right hub for the Big Dummy, but it isn't carried by QBP. So what have you Rohloff/Big Dummy people done? Did you have to order it direct from Deutschland or something? Or can you use 8022?
Also, can you just skip using the Rohloff-specific chain guard and use something like this: http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=8857&category=2146
Thanks!

The only difference between the 8022 and 8027 is the axle plate. 8022 comes with the torque arm, 8027 has the OEM 1 axle plate for rohloff specific dropouts. For the big Dummy, you want the OEM2 axle plate, I think the hub model, assuming you want black is 8027Z.
As for a chain guide, fahgeddaboudit. You don't need one.
Here's the 8022:

You're right - the only apparent difference is the axle plate, and you can get the OEM2 plate separately. So, you Rohloff desirers who want to build Big Dummies with them, you CAN use the 8022. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Dan.
You should be fine with 8022. You'd have to order the OEM2 axle plat with either hub.
