Anyone know much about these Pfeiffer frames? Seller said it's made of True Temper RCX with a Shimano 105 headset and Strong seatpost. No specific measurements available.

Would this be worthy of a cheap FG build?

I think it's a little TOO worthy of a cheap build.
Seems like a really nice frame. If you buy it don't chop all the bits off.
that is a hella sexy frame, if you buy it then don't make a "cheap" conversion out of it.

http://www.sandsmachine.com/bp_pfifr.htm link to info. on Pfeiffer bicycles. I could've sworn they had a website but I can't find it.
That's a great frame worthy of a very nice build up. Don't even think of grinding anything off of it.

By cheap, I wasn't thinking of throwing junk-bin parts on it, but just keeping the project under a grand including tools...I thought the frame looked sweet, just not quite on sure on sizing so I'm going to try to see it in person and take some measurements. Thanks for the replies

If you're looking for a cheap build, I'd suggest you take a look at an IRO, Kilo, or Scattante frame. That is a beautiful frame and deserves gears.

You want to spend a thousand dollars on a conversion? To be blunt, that is dumb.
Plenty of awesome real track bikes end at well under a grand on eBay, get one of those.
...real track bikes...
OP doesn't say...maybe s/he wants an FG road trainer? $200 is a steal for a frame like this. go for it...just don't do anything crazy like removing bosses/cable guides/der. hangar.

http://orlando.craigslist.org/bik/788104559.html even though that's probably a panasonic paramount, it's a steal at $75. /hijack

Thanks for the input, I did pick it up and will be leaving it original form...and will probably build it into a geared bike.

Great. Nothing wrong with giving it a single gear, though, as long as you don't shave the frame. It can always return to gears in its future. Fixed-gear riding is FUN on many levels!
