I picked up an older Bianchi from a friend recently. He bought it in about 1986. He doesn't remember the exact year and he doesn't remember the model. Because of an injury many years ago he has not ridden the bike for over 10 years. I have now cleaned it up and it is mint. It is in fabulous condition with Dura Ace components. It's really a beautiful bike.

My question is this: How do I learn more about this bike? I have replaced the cable housing and bar tape with the original Celeste colors. The saddle and water bottles are original Celeste too. Is there a website that specializes in Bianchi older bikes? Where would I get original parts? Did they make Celeste water bottle cages etc.? I really like this bike and want to make sure it is really original in all ways. Any help you can give me would be greatly apprciated.

Take a picture of the bike, and upload it so we can have a look.

Last year on TOMRV, I saw a guy with celeste bar tape and tires. Looked good on that celeste bianchi.

There's a similar thread on the road cycling forum ....http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=44903 that duscusses sources for celeste tape and cables.

For Bianchi info, there's a forum at www.bianchiusa.com that occasionally will provide an answer or you can email Bianchi USA themselves with a question.
I've found E-Bay to be a good source of info, usually good pics that you can use to determine year and model of what you have.

I'll try to get a picture or two online this weekend.

Thanks

This is my first attempt at putting pictures on the Forum. Hope it works.

I have replaced the cage pedals and Celeste saddle with upgraded versions. I have saved the original parts however.

Can anyone tell me more about this bike, such as the year and model. The original owner thought he bought it in 1986.

Obviously I can't follow simple directions. Where do I go to get instructions on attaching pictures to my messages?

Thanks for any help.
