Great Lakes - Let the Games begin!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

NBCOlympics.com will live-stream the Men's Road Cycling competition during the Beijing Games starting on Aug. 8 and will have in-depth written commentary on the events provided by Craig Cook, a frequent contributor to Bicycling Magazine.

Click on TV listings, enter your zip code, enter what kind of TV you have.
Personally I think it's too early for the Olympics ... I haven't watched my Tour de France DVD's I made yet!!

Anybody willing to help a guy out and tape/tivo/dvd this bad boy? I'd be willing to pay a few bucks for a few hours of cycling coverage (and, also, for any and all other recorded cycling events). Trainer season is coming up way too quick, and the only videos I have are cyclocross!

I will record it on my DVR. But it's going to be in HD, so mucho GB's to deal with. I would have to compress and convert the recording first before I could offer it.

I can dub what I get, but talk to me when the dust settles in two weeks. Will be too busy recording daily.

What I'm gathering is that you can stream this online from 10p - 1:30a (Watching currently)
Normal coverage on TV is in the big 9a-5p block with event coverage at the following times:
9-9:30
11:30-12
1:30-2:30

Then again it *IS* NBC, not "VS". We shall see how much racing we actually get. Have it on the TV here at work. (Not that I'm complaining! Just being realistic about not getting 3 hours of live bike racing direct from China - now THAT would be first, eh??).

Results are in. Pictures are everywhere. TV coverage was ZIP. I didn't have my eyes glued to the TV all night, but I saw nothing.
That's sets us off to a real whiz-bang of a start! http://emoticons4u.com/sad/965.gif

Looking like the race coverage will be split up over the next 6 hours (9am to 3pm CT).
Just like the good old days, before OLN ! :D
That website sucks. :notamused:
I can't understand if you look at a particular sport, when it will air. You have to sift through the TV listings for the sport you want.
BTW, 9:00-9:30 Saturday morning will be roadrace highlights.

I saw on the website something suggesting 11:00am est. Finished my 30miler just in time to get home, change, grab brunch and sit down to watch...Women's powerlifting. WTF?
Turned out up here around detroit channel 4 showed highlights more like starting 2:30 ish through 5ish pm.
Awesome bits what I did catch.

I recorded all afternoon, so I've got what ever they've shown - haven't seen it yet.
NBCOlympics.com has the highlights:

Final sprint + awards ceremony. No commentary, just sights and sounds. Runs 5 minutes.

In all fairness, it could have been seen live -on line-.
