I just built a cross bike using a Giant OCR touring frame. My part list is: Avid disc brakes, XT ubs, Marzochi comp 29'er shocks, Rock Shox suspension seatpost, FSA road triple 53-39-28, 12-34 XT cassette, WTB speed master rims, Ritchey alpha bite trail mix 700 x 35c tires, Kore stem, Nashbar Trekking ATB/Hybrid Handlebar, Tektro brake extenders modified for a longer reach, Avid 7.0 brake levers, and XT shifters. This bike rides like a dream, on the road or the dirt. It is more comfortable to ride on the streets and you don't have to worry about crappy roads, and on the dirt it is quite more agile and fast on the run. I cross small streams confidently and have ridden some fire roads with no problems. I love this bike. Just wanted to share. rmwun

Are you going to do any loaded touring? Sounds like a good choice for all round commuter/tourer/fun bike...

Your right that is one of the reason I chose this bike. I probably won't do any touring because I don't have any buddies that will do this with me. I originally set this bike up so that I could ride from my house to the fire road that I ride at and ride to the top. Kind of road and mountain riding all in one, but with the less drag on the road and a little more speed. Plus the suspension takes the roughness off the ride on the road or trail.

Yeah I know that, but I could ride it like it was one. Or I could ride it like a mountain bike or on the road or both or as a tourer, or who knows.

It sounds like the bike you built suits your purpose very well. Maybe you can get a friend to snap a digital pic with their camera or camera/phone.
