Commuting - “Stan’s no tubes” for commuting?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone use “Stan’s no tubes” for commuting? I’m told they don’t do well at higher PSI but with the reduced rolling resistance you don’t have to run at the same high PSI anyway. I commute on my mountain bike and I want to convert it to “Stan’s no tubes”. I already use all around low profile knobbies for commuting and trail riding. This seems like a win win situation. I ride at some local trails on the way home from work often so I want to keep the bike in trail ready condition.
Thanks,
CD

I guess nobody uses them. Well, i just took the plunge and ordered the no tubes kit and a new set of python air light tires for all around riding. i'll post how it goes for general info.

Please do post what you think of the stan's after you get the chance to ride them. I would be interested in them too if they work for commuting. I don't suppose you ride in sub zero stuff ? Is there a possibility that stan's stuff isn't as effective at lower temperatures?
Cheers, Dave

I should have them on Friday. I’ll post my initial opinion after a week or so of commuting on them. Then every so often when something does or doesn’t happen. No sub zero temps here. This is Austin TX. It gets into the 20’s a few times a year for a few days at a time. I’ll be able to post some real hot weather results by July and August of this year though. HA!
