Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone have any opinions about these?

Sticks out mighty far - could be a problem parking occasionally, although maybe it's high enough off the ground not to be a problem with most vehicles behind it. Will you need the capacity of 4 often, or most of the time?
We have the Bauer rack, which has an extension we add whenever carrying more than 2 bikes. Otherwise, we take that extra bar length off and have far less chance to back into something or have somebody pull into it when parking.

I see many of these at the resort I'm employed at, and a few crushed into support pillers and walls.

I am using the same type of rack from Yakima (Big Horn 4) and like it. With some bikes such as kid bikes (slanted top tube) it is sometimes difficult to mount all the bikes but it works.
You have to make sure to remember it is mounted on your truck though otherwise you may crash it.

Ever since I had a bike damaged far more than the car (the bike was pretty much destroyed, and it was worth almost as much as the car) when I got rear-ended, I've either had roof racks, or put the bikes in the back of a hatchback or wagon or pickup/topper.
I'm planning on getting his rack I think. It is a 1upusa and has great reviews at MTB review.com (http://www.mtbreview.com/reviews/bike_rack/)
We had a Thule. Expressway I think is the model, but I don't remember. It was great, very stable, and it folded down so it didn't stick out very far when the bikes weren't on it. Also released to open the rear door of our Trooper.
Alas, it got rear-ended at a red light and broken(fortunately not with the bikes on it). I will order another one, but I haven't gotten around to it (being winter and all).
