Road Cycling - Bike Rides in Belgium

Hey folks. I have to go to Belgium for seven weeks for work and I will be taking my bike. I tried to buy a bike route map from omni-map but they were sold out. I will be in Mons in the province of Hainaut. Does anyone know of some good routes there or where I can get a good map of the area suited for cycling? I know the canals are supposed to be excellent for cycling, but if anyone is familiar with riding around Mons I'd love to hear from you.

While I am there I think I will ride the Golden Bike Tour of Flanders. This is a ride of the course the day before the pro race.

Mons is in the west, northwestish part of Belgium. For scenic rides, they have a zillion miles of paved cycleways that have no cars on them.

If you want to ride the racing routes, they are mostly on the other side of Belgium, south of Liege into the Ardennes.

Click on carte..if you are leaving soon, take lots of clothes...especially ones for rain...it's about mid-March to early April before the weather gets decent. Still get those North Sea storms...rain and ice.

Thanks Road Warrior. I am going March 1st, so hopefully the weather will improve. I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was cold and rainy. I was thinking about going to the Ardennes one weekend to ride around Bastonge.

I Live in Frankfurt, and I will be riding from Germany, to Aachen, through Belgium, to Oostende to get a ferry to Dover, England. The Albert canal towpath looks like some good riding, direct and flat.

Where can I get some bike maps of routes in Belgium on the internet? Many thanks!
