Sat 8/9...59.08 miles @ 19.4 average. Whoah what a ride! Met up with SocalBoomer and his racer bud. Headed from Imperial to Greenriver, then to the coast. Ran into another group of guys in a paceline. Been a while since I've ridden that hard. Did a few pulls here and there. The group dropped back to wait for a few scragglers so I continued on with CSBoomer. At this point we were maybe 30 miles into the ride, my legs were on fire and I was suffering like a dog! I was hanging on taking some much needed recovery time. Yeah, I was dying!:p

Ran into Mad_one at the coast stop. He was there when we arrived. A few minutes later, the other paceline arrived. SCBoomer asked if I wa about ready to leave so I said, Yeah, let me go to the potty real quick". I went in for about a minute, came out and they were gone! Not sure what happened but oh well, the other group invited me to ride with them.

Must have been a tailwind on the return cause the group was flying. I did a pull right before and up the short hill. I was winded a this point and needed to recover. As I pulled off, the group picked it up bigtime so I dropped to the back. I see all the riders go by including Mad_One. It was a struggle to catch on but once I did, I thought I'd recover but couldn't cause they kept lifting the pace. Picked up a few fresh riders on the way, then I knew I was toast. I dropped back and told MO I had to drop off and do my own pace or I'd die. So he was nice enough to drop off with me. We ended up catching acouple of the line riders that had also been dropped so I guess we weren't doing that bad.:p

At the end of the ride MO kept pulling away from me! But I was able to kick it up a bit at the end to save the average!:thumb:..What a tough ride!

Second guy up with the blue triangle on his back is SocalBoomer

Beanz, you're lucky to have a bunch near you. All the Indiana Clydes are scattered all over.

Yup! Thanx to the Socal Forum:p...Even so, mayber cause I ride near the coast. That's where all the riders are. And GMR is near too. Lots of guys up there!

Have you met any BF'ers in your homeland?

BTW, it's kind of scary taking a pic at 24 mph!:D

Several, but most I had to import from other states for the Tour de Cure ride. ;) We gathered Team Stormcrowe from all over. ;)

Out of the team, there were 3 Hoosiers, one Ohioan, Illinois, Mo, PA, 10 wheels, from TX, and so on. ;)

Wow, should change your handle to Mr. Lonely!:roflmao2:

At times we can get over 30 BF'ers together for a ride! SOmetimes I'm at a water fountain, another rider will ride by and shout,"Mr. Beanz" without me having any idea who it was!:D

yeah - every time I turned around, he's waving or saying, "Hi" to someone else! I think he's got his own fan club along the SART. :roflmao2:

Sorry to have left you down there, Beanz. I missed what you said and didn't realize you were in the men's room. DOH. :twitchy:

In any case - dude, you are stronger than you let on. :D You kept up for a long time. That's a long ride and we use it as a training ride, not as a group ride, so we push. Scott ended up about 5 minutes ahead of me and I finished in 2:57. His avg, 20; mine 19.7. You weren't far behind, and konking with 5-6 miles to go is pretty danged good! :D

I used to lose Scott on the way down - now I can generally stay with him down and most of the way back up.

Did you notice that the hills to Green River aren't all that bad? They used to be far steeper and far longer! :p

Yup! I was actually shocked that you guys were that strong too. Usually a big guy my weight is toast after 10 or even 20. I knew when you were still kickin arse at mile 35, I was in for a good workout!:D

I was 3:03 average 19.4.

Rides like that make me realize I need to lose this extra 30 I'm lugging around. Can't I just turn a clock back to 2005?:roflmao2::D...And Scott is one bad muthuh!:thumb:
