I have several Spinervals and the CTS tape that came with my CycleOps. I prefer the CTS one for the way the amount of effort is described and the way the gears are utilized for resistance. The Spinervals tapes use too much shifting from the big ring and small ring and something about Coach Troy strikes me in a wrong way.

In CTS, it does not matter what gear you are in...it's all managed with cadence and heartrate. If you can push a huge gear and maintain the cadence and heartrate, more power to you, but you can still manage not to blow up if you follow their program and do the test at the beginning, and watch your intensity of effort via your heartrate.
Spinervals is not nearly as well done...warming up in the 53/15 brings in a lot of muscle mass and you don't want that in the warmup, just as an example.
I guess that's why Carmichael gets to coach a guy like Armstrong...because he knows what he is doing.
Just so you know what else is out there, Marty Nothstein has just introduced a new video line. Since it's new, probably no one here has used it. I've trained with Marty indoors already, so his programs are time-tested. Here's a link: http://www.martynothstein.com/

Ok, because of roadwarrior and all of your recommendations I bought the CTS video, first the time trial video, because most of the time I ride alone :( . One quick question, the CTS program requires a computer with cadence and HRM?
Thanks for the answers...

A bit of help here...
I just got the CTS video, the HRM is strictly necessary for the training?
Thanks for the help...

Yes...what you are doing is establishing your limits...where you go into lactate and your maximum HR (two different numbers). Then, you do the calculations he lays out on the beginning of the session, and as you do the workouts, you want to ride at the most effort you can, keeping your HR below the level they indicate. Some exercises are to be done above lactate, some below...and they explain this before each exercise.
The trick is to find out how much gear you can push without blowing up, then doing some work above that point to increase that level...the higher your HR can go before blowing up, the more gear you can push and the faster you will be...or the better your condition will be because you are measuring the strength of your circulatory system..or how fast you can pedal for how long.
The HR monitor will tell you where you are..or the level of intensity of your effort.
BUT...if you want to do it without it, ride as hard as you can until your breathing becomes short and labored...you are over lactate and are on the way to bonking...
I hope that's what you were asking...
Cadence wise...you can count in your head if you want if you do not have cadence on your bike now...pick one foot and count each time it gets to the top for one rev...
The TT video..the first three five minute sessions are above lactate. The 12 minute TT simulation is to be done below...you work within that HR range just below even with the cadence changes. In other words, if you go above lactate, you are closing in on shutting down and not finishing the session.
It's a b!tch if done full out and properly.
But, you can get a Polar A3 or A5 for less than a hundred bucks and a cateye astrale cadence/speed computer for about $35. You'll get a lot more out if this with them...
