Afriend of mine is taking an industrial design class and she has to powder coat something. Well I just happen to have a bianchi pista that could use a free powder coat. The only thing is, the paint has to be stripped off and the decals are underneath the clear coat. Any easy ways to strip it myself, or am I better off finding someone else to do it? Autobody place? How much will that cost? Any advice is really appriciated.

I sanded my frame. The paint came off fairly easily, but I do not know if I would recommend it for a frame as nice as the Pista. Bead blasting is probably your best bet. I do not think it is as abrasive as sandblasting. Sorry I am not sure about the cost. I look forward to reading about the results.

I stripped most of the flat black paint off my Pista using ordinary paint stripper. Then sanding it down to the bare metal was fast and easy. Kinda messy but did the job.

ive used something called aircraft remover, you can get it at any auto parts store. Its gel form, you slap it on, let it sit, the paint bubbles off, and you wipe it away.
DO NOT GET IT ON SKIN, trust me.

Used this on my old fixie convert. Works great. As to the skin, a burn that even cold water doesn't make go away. Wear those gloves and long sleeves. Even glasses just in case.

Is that anything like Naval Jelly? NJ is a gel solvent most people use for rust and paint. In the Navy, however, ...well I'm sure Mr. Karstenappppolis (or whatever his real last name is) has some hair raising stories.

Uhhh..I've got some navel jelly, too. I just have to get the lint out of it. Had no idea it was such powerful stuff.
