finally got my bike back together, after that incident with the garage, and i decided to take it out for a ride up to the Tehachapi summit. rode up the fire trails leading to the rough stuff just fine and pushed the bike to the top. on the way down i tried to hit this little 6' or so drop...and...well....i didnt quite make it. the chain snapped before i got to the drop which caused me to go ass over tea kettle. the RD took out the 10 spokes, destroying the RD in the process, the plastic alvino shifter pods decintegrated on impact with the ground, the front rim is tweaked all to hell.

on the plus side i walked away with minor scrapes and bruises thanks to the full face helmet and full body armor.

will post pics later...when i can stomach looking and the mangled mass of metal that is my bike.

Well, I'm glad you're ok. But, Like dude, You didn't pull anything close to me.

You did better!
Cause like you crashed, AND took out 10 spokes, and shifters, and wheels.

My chain just gave way, taking out the RD and one spoke.
=)

Congrats man, No I have to out-do you..
But first, let me put my old stuff back on my bike
=P

All kidding aside, dude, good thing you walked away from it, That could of hurt badly.
Hope you're able to recover the bike.

its not downhill all the way, the point at which the drop is located is rather flat for about 20 or so feet. also im a little bit of a wuss...so i go a little bit slow on most of the declines. so had to give myself a little bit of a push to have the speed i was comfortable with to take the drop.

You sure it was the chain and not the piece of **** derailer exploding? Happened to a friend and it wrecked his chain and some spokes. Also locked up the back wheel and nearly caused him to wreck.

The name Cheeto has taken on many different meanings. In fact, it is not only a noun. It can be used as a verb or an adjective. We are barely scratching the surface of it's potential. Just look at all the different ways to use the word f**k. I see a bright future for Cheeto. :p

As in...

"Oh man, I really Cheeto'd my rear deraileur"

or

"That rear deralieur is Cheeto'd"

or

"We can sell you a new rear deraileur, or you can take the one that's Cheeto and steal the pulleys off of it."

or

"Careful torquing that bolt, you don't want to Cheeto the threads"

It's such a vivid word...

Nah, "that dude is so Cheeto" is a phrase you'd use to describe someone who's been in a horrible accident. Maybe someone who has their femur sticking through the skin or a patch of their skull showing.
