Hi,
I have had some knee pain over the past three weeks. I did some on line research and I seem to have all the signs of tendinitis. I have employed the methods found on the internet and the pain has almost gone away. I plan on going to my doctor some time over the next week or so.

Anyway, do any of you use latex braces to help with support? Many years ago I jogged and used braces, I found that I had a negative skin reaction to the latex material. Has anyone found themselves in this situation? Are there braces you used that do not contain latex and were they effective?

Thanks

I use these meullers knee straps that are specific for patellar tendonitis (for tendonitis you do not need a full brace, these fit right where the problem is an offer a ton of support and pressure relief). they have made nothing short of a remarkable difference for my tendonitis issues. i wear them pretty much all day everyday while biking or not. highly reccomended!

ive mostly tackled the problem from stretching a lot (and i really mean a LOT) and bike fit. make sure the following bike fitting is correct...

saddle height
saddle fore / aft
crank length
pedal float
cleat position

for me, all were wrong. saddle too low and too far forward. crank length too long. not enough float in pedals. cleat postion too far forward. to fix them i got a setback seatpost, speedplay frog pedals for more float, moved the cleats back, and shorter cranks. if you need help on how to guage proper fit, let me know.....

fatigo - weird that you wear the brace below the knee and it helps as pictured.

well they provide pressure and relief directly on the patellar tendon which is located right below the knee. wearing a full brace would just restrict your movement more and wouldnt help any more than the knee strap.....probably less helpful actually....
