Am looking to get some long track grips, either some white Soyos, Champs or Somas.
Have heard that the Soyos are a little rough but havent heard much on the Somas.
The Soma's are a lot cheaper than the Champs but are they worth the saving?
Anyone had any problems with them?

i have Soyos although i have yet to install them on my drops. they do look rough and im almost afraid of riding without gloves... so i do plan on getting some gloves before i put them on.

you'll get better responses from people who have been riding with them though.

yeah, ive read that on a few forums now. don't really want to ride with gloves all the time.
Interested in any info on the Soma grips as well, there's a good deal on them on ebay with cheap postage to Aus which is a big plus

Somas and the Champs seem pretty identical. Pretty similar moldings on both. I've also heard that the Soyos will rip your hands apart so I've steered clear of them. Picked up some Strong V's and they by far seem like they'd be the most comfortable but I haven't installed them on bars yet.

I've had Soyos before and they suck. Little round knobs are good for grip obviously but they will kill your bare hands. They also do not "stick" to the bars well.

Moot point, but it should be remembered that these are track grips, meant for racing with gloves on. Look at all the pro's on this site (http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/track-worlds-day-4-pictorial-15404), and whats on their hands.

well of course. I meant they suck for non-gloved riding. ;)

I don't see why homeboy doesn't pick up some spare wrap from the LBS and just wrap the bars 1/2way?
