The rear wheel of our Co-pilot has started making a squeak. Once per revolution of the wheel - pedaling or not. I tightened & then removed the valve nut. Still squeaks. I squeezed each pair of spokes to see if I could find a loose one. No luck. If I lift the rear of the bike & let the wheel spin - no squeak.

The sound is a cross between a click & a squeak.

It's hard to diagnose since it won't make the sound unless the wheel is on the ground.

Any suggestions?

Unless you've done this recently, you might want to pull the hub a part and then clean and relube the engagement mechanism....

Put some grease on the QR skewer. One possible cause, and a very quick rule out. (although its a more likely cause when it's associated with pedaling, particularly out of the saddle.)

Thanks - I'll try both of those. The hub bearings are sealed but the engagement mechanism my need to be re-lubed.
