Tandem Cycling - Our new daVinci, our first tandem!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

We were single bike riders who got hooked on tandems while borrowing a daVinci mountain tandem from some friends. We really liked the independent coasting. After hearing that daVinci was working on a budget road tandem with 26" wheels and clearance for 2.3" tires, we decided to save up. For a first tandem, we've been very happy! With this bike we'll be able to comfortably ride the road, some trails and fire roads with fatter tires, and tour -- just about everything we love on two wheels (and of course, being together).

Just over 200 miles now and we're definitely still learning, but having lots of fun doing it.

That is a tremendous bike! Great choice for where and how you ride. You did your homework and it shows. That bike will give you many, many, many great miles of riding on a very wide range of surfaces and conditions. Congrats.

We also love our Da Vinci Joint Venture Tandem. We have over 850 miles so far this summer. I think we finally have the communication and clipping in down! Enjoy the fun!

Thanks to all for the welcome.

The independent coasting is what made us choose a daVinci over another brand. It's just so easy to get used to. My parents were in town a week ago and they were each able to ride it without a problem, neither having much bike experience.
