I ordered 10 PricePoint 700/27 tubes last week and just got around to putting them in my new tires.

Now, I don't know if I should be ticked that the valves on the tubes I ordered are too small for my floor pump, or if I should be mad that my floor pump doesn't work with small valves...

But, given the poor state of the tubes (they were not flat. they were twisted in many locations,) and the way that they were haphazardly stuffed and crammed into their individual boxes, I'm guiding my anger towards PricePoint. Has anyone else had similar troubles?

Now, I have a Morph that works fine, but for the time it takes me to go through 10 tubes I'll be without the use of my floor pump.

I won't be purchasing any tubes from PP again, and they'll be lucky if I shop there again at all.

Have you tried returning them to PP?

I bought a 10pk of their tubes and they've been fine. I wouldn't sweat them not being folded neatly in their boxes. They're rubber, they'll be fine.

Are you trying to inflate presta valves with a schrader pump?

Long time PP tube buyer here. I agree that they have gone downhill in packaging lately. But for me, the product itself still works just fine. Are you saying that you intentionally ordered a presta and that the stem is smaller than other presta stems? I have not found this to be the case with the group I ordered last month.

Agreed......but.....you have to admit that they were nicer when they were neatly packed into the smaller boxes. Those boxes fit more easily into the nooks and crannies of my jerseys/backpack/etc. Perhaps they went with the larger box because they are easier to stuff and thereby cheaper?

Unlikely, but not all presta valves are the same length. There are tubes with shorter valves, which work fine for some wheels but not for others.

Right.

I know which valve is which. My wheels must be deeper than most. The specialized tubes that I used before had valves that reached 1.5"+ out of the wheel. The PP tubes don't reach more than .5" out. I'm not going to return them because I have a pump that will work with them. I would only return them if I couldn't use them, or if they turn out defective in some way. I'm just saying that I'm not getting my second batch from them.

OH, OK, Now I get it. "Small" means "short, in this case. LOL, I just thought of a well used "The Office" line ;).

I am running open pros and have not yet tried them on my deeper rims.

BTW, a 99 cent presta/shrader adapter will extend them enough to allow you to use just about any pump on them with the deeper rims. I have had to do that before. Of course, you have to run the pump on the "schrader" side.

Hey, a guy from worked orders some tubes from them and he ordered the wrong valve type. He got schrader versus preta. I bought them from him, emailed PP, I paid 4.95 for shipping, they exchanged the tubes for me. That to me is damn good customer service. I've been using their tubes for over 2 years and have never had any issue with them.

Getting upset cause you did not ensure the stem length can hardly be their fault. I inquired with them why the deep rim tubes cost twice as much when the only difference was 20mm of additional valve. Could that really cost $2 more to make and sell???? They told me they would matched the price of the short valved tubes in the quantity that I would order. I have always had a positive experience with them and will continue to do business with them. I ride Velocity Deep V's and have to order the 55mm valve tubes,

You want these: http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/14660-345_IRCLV5_SET-3-Parts-74-Tubes/Accessories/IRC-Torque-55mm-Long-Valve----Set-of-5.htm

Even at the asking price, that is a darn good deal.

you're not putting the little securing nut on the inside of the rim are you?

How long are the stems? It really sounds like you have the 25mm valves. Have you measure the valve length?

*ding ding ding!!!* You got it. Boy do I feel dumb. :bang: It says right there on the box: 700x18/25. I guess the 25 stands for the 25mm. The stem seems a touch longer than that but perhaps I'm measuring from the wrong spot. Either way, seeing the other option on the box: 700x28/35. I think that's what I should've gotten. Right?

No the 18/25 stands for the size of tire they will fit inside and not cause you problems. If you have ever tried to put a 700x 35/44 size tube in a 700*23 tire, you know were I am coming from. they are just too thick and wide and won't fit right. If you are riding the deep section rims, you are going to need the tubes from this link. http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/146...--Set-of-5.htm (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/14660-345_IRCLV5_SET-3-Parts-74-Tubes/Accessories/IRC-Torque-55mm-Long-Valve----Set-of-5.htm) assuming you are running 20-28 sized tires.

Just shoot them an email or call them and they will swap them out for you, but you will need to pay the diff in cost plus shipping.

Thanks! I think I'll just make these work for now. but I'll keep the link for use next time! Thank again! :D

Just return them for what you really need versus having to make them work. They are very reasonable, they might even comp you the diff if you ask nicely :). Or you can just swapped them for the 5 pack of the 55mm stems versions.
