Introductions - Greetings from Tortuga!
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey y'all. I'm Chris, hailing most recently from the Oklahoma City area, formally Maine. Did a lot of road riding during my high school years, fading down to some mountain riding while stationed in Guam and Montana, and then stopped altoghether. After coming to the realization that some of my happiest moments have been on the saddle, I'm back into a decent road bike. I love every minute of it. The only frustration is that I'm still trying to climb like I was a teenager. It seems my bike has gotten lighter, but I haven't. Never did group rides in the past, but did a charity ride the other weekend. I'm hooked! I plan on doing every one I can find the rest of the season, deployments permitting.

Hello Chris--what are you doing on Tortuga? And, what are you riding?
Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

I'm peddling a fairly stock Felt F75 for a road bike and a GT XCR 3000 i-Drive for a mtn. bike. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a vintage ride and/or a fixie. Both will have to wait until I get a frameset for the wife. She's on my hand-me-down Specialized Allez, but it's a 54cm. I'm looking for a 50-51cm to swap it out. Tortuga is a long story. It was the radio call sign I was given at my last command. I have a sea turtle tattoo on my calf. Tortuga sounds a lot better than Turtle and Honu was confusing on the net.

That's a cool call sign! I know the Hawaiians here would recognise Honu, but not necessarily too many others.
Good luck with your quest for a vintage ride, and post photos when you do get one :D .
