Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. What do you call a cycle that has two bicycles attached side by side? Are there any kits out there that allow one to attach two bicycles side by side?
I'd love to have something that looks like this...

...but it's way over my budget. I figure two bikes attached is a decent compromise.

Tandem? kinda. When I was a kid my mom dated this Eastern European chap that was a bike mechanic and he built one-offs from junkers that would combine as many as five bikes. But I don't know of a kit to attach two bikes.

The Zem is really something, it takes up as much road space as a small car, and costs almost as much. If your looking for something like it but much less expencive check out Just two bikes http://www.justtwobikes.com/
And if you're looking for more than two bikes, check out The Conference Bikes (http://www.conferencebike.com/).
That's a go-cart without an engine.

You say that as if it were a bad thing. :D

If you did, you'd have to make sure the brake and gear levers were on the same bike, but operating both sets of brakes and derailers (or run singlespeed), and the handlebars/forks were somehow linked so the front wheels were always pointing in the same direction. It'd have interesting handling characteristics that's for sure.

It's called the Granny Bike. Looks simple enough to reproduce.
