Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - to power link or not?

I just bought a SRAM chain and am debating whether or not to use the power link. I just feel really uncomfortable having my chain being held together like that.

Any input on using a master link on a fixed gear? I'm running brakeless as well, so it's my main source of stopping.

Use the power link. The only chains I've broken were ones that I had linked together with a chain tool.

Use it and never look back.

no this isn't possible because whether you are pedling forward or backwards you are always stretching the chain and you are never applying a compresive force which is needed to undo the powerlink that comes with sram chains

Mostly chains don't have any stretchiness to speak of, not enough to pop it out of the power link. Imagine if you are putting pressure "backwards" on your FG with a power link, that the other side (bottom) is "pulling" rather than the top side pushing. So it's either being pulled or pulled, never pushed together.

If you're track nut comes loose and your wheel slips forward, you would most likely have a chain skip problem rather than the power link actually coming all the way off.

I've actually broken a the powerlink of a SRAM chain while riding. Taking off from the lights I must have been mashing too hard and snapped the pin. I now have a DID chain which has similar contraption except you bolt the chain together rather than clipping it.
