I just won a 650B converted Cross Check frame set (size 52) on E-bay.
The previous owner says the toe overlap problem is now eliminated
but OFFROAD he was bashing his pedals on rocks quite a bit more because
the conversion lowered the bottom bracket.
I'm mainly going to use it as an all weather commuter,
but also want to ride it on light trails and.......
try a Cyclocross race or two.
Later,if I like it I'll get a dedicated race bike.
I'm going to come in dead last in (at the very least) my 1st couple of races anyhow,
and would rather not have the toe overlap than a higher BB
The only other problem I can see is a lack of tires.
Going to try either the Schwalbe 650B fatties (45mm wide/900g) or the new
Pacenti Quasi-moto's (50.8mm wide/550g)
I know, they're HUGE:eek:
Any other idea's,suggestions or problems I'm overlooking?
