I lost a few pounds this year but geez! I recently was maping a ride and saw my house on Google Earth. I enlarged the view and there I am mowing the grass:D. I am so fat I can be seen from a satellite, just like the Great Wall of China the largest man made structure that can be seen from space.

Um, congratulations?
Yea, I checked it out and there was a fly on your left shoulder :) ... great job on keeping the grass mowed.

Google Earth photos are not always up-to-the-minute. The one of my house is at least a couple of years old.

Yep, the photo of my house showed a truck in the driveway that I'd traded in three years ago.

Who knows what that satellite can see at maximum zoom.

At least you weren't naked in the Jacuzzi. Can the camera see things that are six inches or so?

Suzie would be using that satellite to spy on people wearing kilts.

You're darn right. I mean, what good is technology if you can't use it for things that it was not intended? :o

According to some seemingly well written analyses, a spy satellite is capable of resolving detail down to 4 inches. Which more than meets Suzie's criteria.

uhmmm... suzie? since the camera is on a satellite, you need to ask your kilt clad victims to either walk on their hands or put mirrors on their shoes....
be well,

which means: some of us can be tracked at all times;)

I think only if the 4 inches are horizontal.

I have heard that Google Earth uses a combination of satellite and airplane images.

OK, dammit, now I"M startin' to get worried.:twitchy:

I listened to an interview a couple of years back wherein a person claimed that the military was able to ID certain Taliban individuals using images from satellites. There wasn't enough resolution to recognize their faces, but using their heights and the shape of their beards was sufficient to ID key people.

Louis,
You should find out when the satellites pass over Akron, then go out, raise your fist into the air, and give them a full bird salute. Do this every day for a while and see if anyone ever comes a-knockin' on your door.

OK this is getting pretty risque for a 50+ forum. :D

I'm already afraid of 'em knockin' at my door.:twitchy:
People around here are actually afraid to step outside their houses at night because of the recent mountain lion scare.

It's there.....just too much pixelization to see it.
It's actually this jersey, though. (Finishing up the run stage of a Triathlon here)

Wow!
That is a fantastic shot.
And to think that they are still only showing a wide-angle (no insult intended) view. Could have zoomed to see what basic type of bike you were riding.
The camera always adds a few pounds.
Does this satellite make me look fat?
