16 Years old, and love cycling, although since most of my age group don't ride, it is another one of my unique traits. Started about 6 months ago, lost around 45ish 50 pounds (didn't realize I was so lazy), changed my diet, and am trying everything that is written in Joe Friels Training Bible (Really good book). I also happen to be autistic, although I'm considered "highly functioning" so aside from my odd knowledge and creativity it's not that apparent.

Hey there Dice,

Good for you for finding a positive outlet. Don't worry about being different, it can be a good thing. I never bothered to get a driver's license until I was 24. I'd either go by foot, ride my bike, or take the bus if/when I couldn't get a ride from my folks (which was about 95% of the time).

Most folks here are nice and helpful, but don't take it personally if you run into someone who is rude. Just part of life.

Welcome to Bike Forums,

Z

Oh no it's a good thing I love cycling, lots of people think it's really cool, just nobody to cycle with my age around here D: . But I'm joining a club next year once I am somewhat better :P

Hi Dice, you are not the only person with autism here. In fact, there are several members I know of who have autism. Not only has it not stopped them from cycling, it's been quite beneficial for them.

Oh, and what bike are you riding?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

Hi Dice! Congratulations on your new interest in cycling. I started riding seriously when I was 15, and now I'm 40 and it's been a wonderful addition to an interesting life so far. There's lots of good interesting folks here and lots of good info.

Welcome!
