Basically looking for a bike that you can get off a plane with, load your gear and start on your trip. I weigh 210 pounds and my complete traveling gear is in the 40 pound range. 50-100 miles a day if pushing.
Mostly tar rounds and dirt, gravel roads if required.
There are no bike stores near me with folding or seperating bikes. Most stores recommend the brand they are selling and have not found a store that sells a few similar brands
Have been looking at the Dahon Speed TR with the Thudbuster seat post upgrade http://www.thorusa.com/dahon/2008/speedtr.htm also the pashley Moulton TSR - 27 http://www.tsr.uk.com/gallery/index.php?gallery-id=3
The Pashley Moulton TSR-27 is 3 times the price of the Dahon Speed TR, is it 3 times the bike or even twice the bike ? Are there any other similar bikes worth looking at. I understand everyone has their favorites and would appreciate any help and feedback.
Low gearing for hills, comfort and the bike that produces the least fatigue would be ideal.
I an am really just looking at getting one bike and using it as opposed to collecting 3 or 4 similar models.
Thanks Again.
