Road Cycling - Campy????

I am building a TT bike for my son, I currently have a rear disc with a campy 6 speed cassette. I need info on parts that I can find on ebay, such as BB, Crank, Frt, RR Der. etc. I dont know alot about campy and dont want or need high end campy, any info or advise would be greatly appreciated...

Xenon is Campy's budget group, but since you have a 6 speed cassette I doubt the rear derailer would work. Someone else might know more about this. The cranks, BB and front derailer should be ok though. If you're putting aero extensions on, you'll probably want barend shifters, I don't know if 6s peed indexed ones are available (you can just set 8/9/10 speed ones to friction though, and then any derailer (presumably) would work). I'm no expert, better hope someone else knows more than me :) Good luck.

I have seen a lot of items on ebay, fairly reasonable, in fact I found a crank and BB, but its for 10 speed (10 speed cassette) I am thinking I will have a hard time finding the parts I need, unless I find a complete bike thats been junked out.

I had an old campy 6 speed freewheel hub. I switched to a 7 speed freewheel. It helped in finding parts, with 7 speed still being fairly common. Since you will be using friction shifters, you can use any old derailleur you can find, Campy, Suntour or Shimano. Same goes for the shifters.

Cool, I didnt know i could use the cheapo derailleurs, I knew i could use an off name shifter and brake calipers and levers...

I don't know if Campy ever produced a 6 speed cassette.
I believe they were all freewheels back then in fact
I don't know that anyone did. The 6 speed is going to be
non indexed (not ergo, sti etc.) you could go with
a campy Nuovo Record type group and it should be
fairly inexpensive (unless you are looking at NOS stuff
it can get expensive). with Friction you can get anything
and mix and match. Suntour gets VERY high marks,
especially if you can get the Superbe pro gruppo.

You might want to try this website: http://www.campyonly.com. They are seriously into campy and should be able to answer any questions. They have a classified section for old merchandise.

if you want indexed shifting switch to a seven speed freewheel. You can find them still. In fact every so often a dura ace freewheel comes up on ebay. Look for old suntour accushift or dura-ace components. You can find them on e-bay from time to time as well. In fact I have a 7 speed derailler that I will probably post in the next week or two. You can also go friction on 6,7 or 8 speeds. One thing you need to think about is the rear spacing of the frame. Is the disk hub spacing 125, 127 or 130? If your frame isn't steel you may have some truoble modifying it if the hub and dropout spacing doesn't match.
