Just surf ebay a few minutes ago and came accross this. Has anyone bought these stuff on ebay and installed it? I just wondered if it will work as advertised. What do you guys use to prevent rubbing of cable housing on your bike's frame? Any other ways? here's the link- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?viewItem&item=3659800544&category=36140
I use little patches of clear adhesive plastic. For those with carbon fibre frames, Lizard Skins also makes some "matching" CF patches (http://www.lizardskins.com/products/carbonpatches.html) although I don't think they match that well... at least not on my frame. I noticed that my MTB was manufactured with special abrasion-resistant layers on the head-tube.
If you want to use these, go to hardware store and
look for O rings. won't cost you $6.00 for 20 of them.
maybe 2 or 3 bucks at most.

Don't see whay they wouldn't work. By bike came with the ones that you put on the exposed part of the cables and they haven't marred the finish after a couple of years. $6 sounds kind of steep. Try the hardware store or your LBS.
They look like the little O-ring washers used to repair/repack a leaky faucet. As was said, the hardware store should sell a pack of 20 for 2 ~ 3 dollars...

Went to lowe's and home depot today to check if they have it. They have o-rings but they come in assorted pieces or kits. I also went to autozone and advance auto parts to check for o-rings. They too come with assorted o-rings in different sizes. I'll check my local LBS and other local hardware store tomorrow to see if they have it. I'll keep looking and keep you posted. Thanks to those who replied.
one place you can check would be a dive shop.
Lots of different sized O rings there, although they
may be a bit more expensive than a hardware store.

Check your local Archery pro-shop. Ask for "Eliminator buttons".
