It's been a while (more than 8 years) since I've been on a bike. I recently moved mine into the city. In the past few weeks I've been pushing for 10 mi/day to get started.

I have a 1976 Raleigh Tourist with the original Brooks seat:love:. I've been riding it since I was 13 or 14. It came from my Uncle who was the original owner. With the exception of a few scratches and dents (and brake pads), it's all original. I get more attention at the bike shop - it cost $8.24 to have it tuned up - let's hear it for simple technology!

I took my sister's 2006 Giant something-or-other out for a ride when visiting her, my feet kept rubbing against the front wheel and a general feeling of discomfort kept drawing my attention to my seat. Nothing can compare to the Raleigh...she rides like a LazyBoy and you get to shift that Sturmey Archer while waiting for traffic to clear:D. It's a thing of beauty! I'll never give her up...until I'm required to stop short, but keep going due to old-fashioned brake technology...:injured:.... I would like to try to build a fixed-gear in the future so I can see what that's like. For now, I'll make sure I keep riding so it's worth it.
