Currently looking at the Burley D'lite, and the chariot cougar 2.. I need one that will hold two kids, and work as a trailer and a decent jogging stroller, as my wife runs alot more than she rides..


They both seem good... Just wondering if anyone has experiences with either. I currently have a trailer made by avenir, which sucks... My kid gets beat to a pulp riding in it on pavement...

We have the Cougar 1 and it was a good investment. We researched all the trailers and found this one to be the best. Having a low rollover rate, adjustable suspension and the different attachments it fits all our needs. We purchased all but the ski attachment. As a jogger it rolls with very little resistance, behind the bike I hardly know its there, with the hiking attachment it feels like a small back pack and as a stroller it works well also.

We use ours on the local fire roads and set up the susspension on the soft side. On the path at the beach we just increase the tire psi. Also, the company is very helpful if you have any questions or problems.

Thank you for the input... I'm leaning heavily towards the chariot, for one because I could get the chassis with both the running and cycling attachments for the same as the burley with just the trailer arm...


On yours, does your child have any problem wearing a helmet and being uncomforable? In the one I have currently, my son's head chin is almost hitting his chest because there is no recession or anything for his helmet in the seat... it really is a terrible design, and he hates it.

"Hey Jake, wanna go for a bike ride?" "No, I can't like that" Lol... poor guy.

Our daughter has no problems with a helmet when in the trailer. She does have a childs helmet though so it does not have the point in the back as does adult XC/road helmets.

Something else I like about the Chariot, you can lay your bike on it's side if you need to and the trailer will stay upright. On a mtb this comes in handy if I need to change a tire.
