I was a fan of a lot of Isaac Hayes music and humor. I was really sad to hear he died. Even if he was a Scientologist, that was his business, I only liked him an an entertainer. He was so funny on southpark, and he was involved in a lot of great music. He helped write one of my favorite songs, the Sam and Dave tune "Hold On I'm Comin". So I thought it would be nice for us to honor his memory by posting our favorite stuff that Isaac Hayes did.
A quote from Southpark:
Chef: The right time to start having sex is 17.
Sheila: So you mean 17 as long as you're in love?
Chef: Nope, just 17.
Gerald: But what if you're not ready at 17?
Chef: 17, you're ready.
A neat version of Shaft that he did on Conan:

Oooh I wish I had seen that.
My favorite story was that at one time he thought he might get the role of Shaft in the movie. Turns out they finally gave it to Roundtree. But he will be remembered a lot longer this way....:)
I don't anything beats the "Shaft" theme. Even when it was our school band when I was in 7th grade, that was the best stuff we played; I SO envied the percussionists and trumpet and flute players. Not that we were all that great of a band, of course, but that was, and is, some wonderful music.

Wattstax!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auZV2myICts)
That heavy brass (I think it's trumpet, trombone, and baritone sax) that he uses in the intros to Hold On I'm Comin' and Shaft.
If you're going to have a signature sound, man that's it!

I was trying to place the name. Now I know exactly who it was-RIP.:(
Shaft was just on the other night. He went too young, for sure.
I tell you, there's just not enough French horns in music anymore.
Chocolate Salty Balls, people. Chocolate. Salty. Balls.
Edit: I see someone posted the video. :thumb:

It is amazing, just how many generations he managed to thoroughly entertain. In his time, he made people of all ages from all walks of life laugh and smile. With the exception of white supremacist wackos, he was really loved by everybody. Not a bad legacy to leave.

I'm a little younger, so my Issac Hayes experience has pretty much just been South Park.

Having played the French Horn, I must respectfully disagree.
