So I got my new throttle in today

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180274039929&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=008

Now I feel like a complete ******. I have no clue how to hook it up. The wires are Black, Brown, and Blue.

Here is my old setup:

Throttle controller
black black
blue green
red red

What am I supposed to do? My best guess is brown-red, blue-green, and black-black. I don't want to be guessing though. Anyone got any suggestions?

Well, considering you pretty much are garaunteed the black-black is correct (grnd wire), I would say what you suggested is probably right. If the black grd is right, I think the worst that could happen, is it will go in reverse if the other two are switched.

One thing you can do, since it is a 5kohm pot, is you can use your ohmeter to check what your wiring is now. I would hook up the ohmeter, and use the throttle to see that the ohmeter goes in the right direction for the corresponding wires as you twist it. Then, check the ohmeter to the new leads on the new throttle, and match them up.

Looks like that was the correct setup, so now everyone knows where to get some cheap throttles :)
They are heavy duty wired too btw
