Zeppo here. I just joined in today. I recently bought a new city bike for tooling around the neighborhood. We(my son and I) also ride road bikes on the weekends and on vacation. Hoping to see more Dutch style bikes and talking with you all. Cheers!! -- Z.

Hi Zeppole,

Sounds neat. The primary moderator of the Classic & Vintage Forum has a weakness for Dutch made bicycles. He has an RIH and a Zielman (hope I spelled that right). Stop by the forum, and I'm certain you'll get a warm welcome. I won't even fuss about you using my sign-off. :D

Cheers,

Z

Hello Zeppo, the folks in the Utility Cycling forum love love love the Dutch-style city bikes. They are simple and classic in design, and do a great job of moving around a city.

Which one did you get?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

Hi all. Thanks for the warm welcome. We were out riding most of the weekend. Hey Z, thanks for the tip, and for sharing the signoff. I'll definitely check it out. I still have lots to learn about these Dutch bikes and their wonderful accessories. Hi EH, thanks and kudos. I know moderating ain't easy so my hat is off to you. I went with a brand spanking new Kronan(actually a Dutch-ish(?) Swedish bike) 3 speed. I previously had a K single speeder in Amsterdam. Many fond memories of that old ride brought me back to Kronan since they are now in the U.S. Thanks again. looking forward to more chats. Salud!! -- Z.

If you have knowledge of the older Dutch bikes, we would be happy to hear from you in the Classic & Vintage forum. There is a small, but avid, group of Dutch bike enthusiasts there (including one of the other moderators, and one of the administrators :D ).
