I have a shimano xtr m952 e-type front derailler on a 2004 trek 9.8 17.5" frame. I am running a 2002 xtr crank. The question is what type/size of bottom bracket would best fit this configuration. I am currently putting some high end parts on the frame and would not cheap out on the bb. Also wher would it be available.

If you remove the current BB it is either stamped or has a sticker on it that states what the specs are. You can't get much better than an XTR so I really wouldn't worry about wasting the cash on some Hi-end part.

they used to have tech manuals for each trek bike. i printed off mine in 2002 for my 4900 im glad i still have it. it showed all the measurments and what not, makes buying new parts a breeze
