There's something I'd love to find in the back of an old shop...never touched...just waiting for a little grease and a visit from mr wrench and ms. screwdriver.
27" wheels. Ugh. Eff that. It actually looks like a pretty ****ty bike. Check out those Mickey Mouse cranks, non-removable chainring, pedals, and hoodless brake levers. Cheap-o. The original Suntour equipped Madisons were nicer.
It is an interesting historical piece though.
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS TOMFOOLERYo

haha-haha! no presta valves!
Sorry...thought this was a point out what is different with the old timey bike.
If you look at that and then at some of the FG bikes Bikesdirect sells today, they're actually not that different, bad components, very cheap etc. Basically Panasonic knew how to do a low-end fixie back in the day.
Also, there was recently a bike exactly like this for sale in German Ebay, it was stripped of brakes and other extra parts and had a proper cranks on it, but of course it sold for a LOT of money, like 450 euros or something. Because it was 'A Rare Vintage Panasonic Track Bike'.

Screw the track bike. I'd take her out for a spin anytime.

Shouldn't it be Mrs. Wrench and Mr. Screwdriver? I don't want to sound sexist, but it seems anatomically more correct.
