How you guys doing? I've been away from the site for a while, but I haven't forgot about it. On to the question....
I currently have a rec hard tail and a rec road bike, Giant Rainier and Giant OCR3, and I've been looking to go to a race FSXC within the year (I do race at the sport level), My hopes were set on a 2004 Giant NRS 1 or 2 before the line came out, but I'm rather disappointed at the offerings. I just can't bring myself to like the look of the team blue or red frames (I know this shouldn't matter, but if I shutter when I see my bike, I can't see myself riding it a lot). Now I'm pretty set on what components I want, (Sram X.9 drivetrain, RaceFace crank, Easton bars, stem and seatpost....) so I'm thinking about building the bike myself. I've been searching eBay for a 2003 NRS 1 frame in small, but no luck so far. Are there other frames I should consider? Looking for about 3 inches of rear travel and nothing with the letters FSR on it (It didn't feel as good as the NRS). In my search I came across the Bianchi Ibex, which I like the look of but can't find a lot of info on it, anybody out there have one?
