Hi,

My first post. I am looking for some ladies to ride with, to help me get out onto roads. I am based in NW Portland and can ride the full length of the Springwater Corridor round trip in approximately 4 hours, its 48 miles including getting to and from OMSI.

I bought a used Trek 2000 road bike. I will be 40 this year and I am not interested in racing but would like to do longer rides on roads.

If anybody knows of a mature womens group ride, I would love to share their experience and companionship.

Any replies, appreciated.
Rose.

PS. I just emailed Dana Barnes at Bike Gallery enquiring about the Women's Sunday morning ride.

Hello Rose, you can try looking at this site...http://bikeportland.org/ and see what's available. There are so many cyclists in Portland that I am certain there must be rides specifically for mature women.

Welcome to BikeForums!

Told my wife about your post and she recommended you check out Team Estrogens web site. www.teamestrogen.com

We moved here back in Feb. but with the new house needing so much work, we haven't been riding much this year. I'm sure you won't have any issues finding groups to ride with on that site. It's based in Hillsboro.

You should check the Portland Velo rides, plenty of ladies there and they have a few rides around town.
Good luck.

Thanks for this. Worth noting that http://portlandvelo.net/ is Portland, Oregon and http://portlandvelo.com/ is Portland, Maine.

Also it looks like there might be a regular 9 AM Saturday morning ride, that might suit me.

Thanks for all the replies.

That is why I did not give the link, I always forget. Great group and the Saturday ride is huge.
Go there early the first time to get to know people and understand what group you want to ride with.
Enjoy.

If you're in NW you should check out the Sorella Forte rides, it's a women only club they leave from St. Honoré bakery on NW23rd and Thurman or from River City Bikes.
