I've heard that when you get a Campagnolo rear wheel which is Shimano compatible, they don't use aluminum for the freehub. The axle is still lightweight alloy but the freehub itself is probably chromoly or steel.
Anyone know for sure, or can clarify? I suppose they would do this to ensure that all Campagnolo parts are kept the lightest with the best material thus always the advantage of going complete Camp.

You can buy a Campagnolo freehub body with Shimano splines in two versions the Chorus or Record. The Record level F/H with Shimano splines is just like the standard F/H, it has a Ti pawl carrier and aluminum body where the Chorus level with Shimano splines has a steel pawl carrier and an aluminum body. There is no reduction in quality if you buy either F/H with shimano splines.
