ok so im currently building a new bike with mostly miche parts. i was thinking about getting the miche pistard wheelset to keep with the miche theme, but for 100 more i could get mavic ellipses. which is a better pre built wheelset for the value?

Mavics are underspoked, overpriced, and have too many proprietary parts that make wheel maintenance a huge PITA. Go with the Miche wheels. They look more logical to me. Having more spokes in the rear and fewer in the front is a wise idea.


Its worth mentioning that you could have a much better wheelset (lighter, butted spokes, more aero) custom built for similar cost.
