Eastern Canada - Going to Montreal!!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My wife (shh... she's from Toronto, don't tell the Quebecians!) and I are going to Montreal next weekend! So excited, never been there, and now that we are BOTH into cycling, we plan on renting bikes and riding all over the damn place...
Any cycling-sight-seeing recommendations? Recommendations for best (and inexpensive) places to rent from??
Your help is greatly appreciated....

For a rental, you may want to check-out VeloEspresso (http://www.veloespresso.com/la_boutique/NousRejoindre), close to downtoown and the Old Montreal.
Definite ride you will want to take is the combination of the Lachine Canal park and Lasalle shore trail. You may want, while you're at it and want to add some kilometers, ride through Verdun and Nun's Island, cross the St-Lawrence at the ice break bridge (next to Champlain bridge) then ride the St-Lawrence Seaway path to Ste-Catherine. You couls also continue along Lake St-Louis and bike to Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue. There are some really nice bistros and restaurants along the shore in the old village. If you legs are too tired, you can always return on the train.
Another great ride is to go to the Boucherville Islands National Park. You cross either using the river shuttle that goes between the Old Port of Montreal and the Longueuil marina, or riding to Jean-Drapeau park and taking the bike crossing at the Victoria bridge/St-Lambert Lock. Another shuttle will take you onto Charron Island, from which you access the National Park.
Hoping you enjoy your time in Montreal.
