Foo - High Jump

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

WTF? I can jump over something like 3 feet high. The women are jumping higher than I'm tall. Dang...

Race walking is cooler, Unsafe. Don't hate :)
it's all in the center of rotation, which is what I was told when doing high jump.
rotate at your head, not your chest... but I never fully understood the concept so I stuck to grounded sports :D
Is anyone else losing sleep becuz of the 'lympics? jeez....:twitchy:

no, not me, Canada isn't that fun to watch at the olympics anyways.
I think we still have 0 medals.
I've seen girls jump clear over me. Well... I am only 5'2" so I've been seeing girls jump over my height since high school track. :p
Now, polevault is the track event that you have to watch.
I have my money on Yelena Isinbayeva to win gold for Russia. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XvifYDqp_U)
She has broken her own record over and over again since July of 2003. She has the record now at 5.04m (16.535 ft.)

Pole vault is impressive, but there's something about jumping over 6 feet without use of any aids.. Amazing.
Very good point. Is high jump on now?

http://sports.rightpundits.com/wp-content/photos/lolo_jones4.JPGI've noticed the same thing. I was talking to my mother last night while watching swimming that I'm not used to watching the Olympics starting at 7pm in the evening. Like you, I've found myself staying up until like 1-2am to try and catch as much of the games as I can. Hopefully, for the 2016 games it's on this side of the world. I'm leaning towards having it in Rio instead of here at home in Chicago. Maybe then I can get a good night's rest.
